thanks to GPS

Guidepoint works with Vancouver police to recover the vehicle quickly

VANCOUVER, WA - A Vancouver woman who was carjacked has her vehicle back thanks to the car's Guidepoint System (GPS).

Police were called to a Fred Meyer grocery store on Grand Boulevard to investigate a carjacking. The 22-year old woman said a man put a knife to her throat and stole her 2005 Honda Accord.

The victim told police her vehicle was equipped with Guidepoint. Police called Guidepoint's stolen vehicle recovery center at 1-877-GPS-FIND and worked with a recovery specialist to locate the vehicle. Within 40 minutes, police found the vehicle parked and searched the area with a K-9 unit. The suspect was found at a nearby apartment and was taken into custody. The woman was not injured in the attack.
