Guidepoint™ Launches Google Droid App

GuidePoint Systems, a leading supplier of GPS-based telematics, today announced the launch of a new tracking, safety and concierge application for users of the Google Droid®.

The Madison Heights, Mich.-based company said the new Guidepoint App, which can be downloaded for free, allows users of the popular Droid smartphone to control their vehicle or gain access to a variety of location-based services including stolen vehicle recovery, driving directions, emergency help and other assistance.

Guidepoint’s app uses the Droid’s built-in GPS technology and its wireless connectivity to deliver the smartphone’s exact location to Guidepoint. Once the app is activated, users can set up an online account with Guidepoint and access services with just a few touches of their Droid screen.
