Guidepoint Partners with Rosen Navigation
Jan 8, 2011
Today Guidepoint Systems, a leading telematics supplier based in Madison Heights, Michigan, announced it is partnering with San Diego-based Rosen Navigation on a new in-dash multimedia navigation system that will also offer concierge and emergency services.
The Madison Heights, MI-based telematics supplier said its award-winning services for drivers will be offered on a complimentary trial basis to owners of Rosen’s new factory-look series of in-dash systems. The Rosen systems – which offer GPS-based navigation, Bluetooth connectivity, plus the ability to play DVDs, CDs and MP3 music files – will have a Guidepoint logo on the unit’s touch-screen. Users can touch the screen and instantly access Guidepoint’s 24/7/365 response centers to get roadside help, make travel arrangements, obtain driving directions or get emergency help. The service is free for the first 90 days and can be purchases per year after the trial.
“We’re very excited to offer our award-winning services to Rosen’s customers,” said Rand Mueller, President and Chief Executive Officer of Guidepoint. “Their reputation for high-quality, user-friendly technology at a competitive price point is well known. We are confident that by offering assistance and services that drivers value, Rosen will be able to further separate itself from the pack in the marketplace.”
The exclusive agreement to provide Guidepoint services to Rosen customers is the latest initiative in a program called “Guidepoint Ready” that was launched in 2009 by the company. Guidepoint has begun working with companies that design and manufacture Bluetooth, GPS, radio, mobile and other hardware units in an effort to embed Guidepoint’s value-added services.
“Offering services gives manufacturers a unique opportunity to build an expanded relationship with the customer, and provides them with a significant point of differentiation,” said Tom Gafford, Chief Technology Officer at Guidepoint. “That will become more of a competitive advantage, especially as hardware becomes more ubiquitous and, in the mind of consumers, more of a commodity.”
