Does the system need a separate antenna?
No additional antenna is needed. The Guidepoint antenna is built into the module.
Are there monthly fees?
The Guidepoint Stolen Vehicle Recovery System has no additional fee’s, although we do offer many optional annual service plans.
Is the system transferrable and upgradeable?
Yes. All Guidepoint systems are both transferable and upgradeable. Before you trade in your vehicle call the Guidepoint Response Center at 877-477-3463 and we will assist you in the proper way to arrange the transfer.
Can a Guidepoint system be used on lease cars?
Yes. Guidepoint can be installed on any type of vehicle, including lease cars.
Can vehicle owners track their own vehicle?
Yes. Guidepoint offers multiple service plans that provide online vehicle tracking.
Does Guidepoint offer any Onstar type services?
Yes, Guidepoint offers multiple optional service plans that include: Roadside assistance, On-Call emergency service dispatch, complete concierge services, navigation assistance and more.
Does Guidepoint qualify for any insurance discounts?
The Guidepoint Stolen Vehicle Recovery Systems does qualify for insurance discounts in many states. Because insurance discounts vary from state to state we recommend checking with your insurance agent for specific discounts.
Does my car need to be running for Guidepoint to work?
No, The Guidepoint unit draws a very small amount of power from you battery
Will Guidepoint work if my car is parked in a concrete garage or metal building?
Yes. Your Guidepoint equipped vehicle can be tracked anywhere in the US, Canada or Mexico.
How do I activate my Guidepoint System?
Contact the Guidepoint Response Center at 877.477.3463 and select "ACTIVATIONS" from the phone menu. Although we are staffed 24/7 for all other member services, the activations department hours are M-F 8AM-11PM & Sat 8AM-4PM Central time.
How do I locate my vehicle if my vehicle is stolen?

I lost my password how do I find my password?
Contact the Guidepoint Customer Care by calling 877.477.3463.
Why can't I log into my account?
Verify the user name and password that you selected during the activation process by calling the Guidepoint Response Center at 877.477.3463. Our member security and privacy policies prohibit us from sending your login data via email. We want to be certain we aren't sending your data to an unauthorized person. Also, only certain service plans have access into the website for vehicle locating. Please check with our Response Center if there is any question regarding the features of your service plan.
