Frequently Asked Questions
Q: How is this different than other systems on the market?
A: There several “single-use” products on the market that do only
payment reminder systems, starter disable, or GPS tracking.
SurePay offers you all three of those options in one single plan.
It’s very simple.
Q: How do I install a SurePay device?
A:
SurePay installation manual is located at www.guidepointsystems.com. No
special tools should be needed. Call 1-877-GPS-FIND (877-477-3463) for
installation support or to arrange for on-site training from Guidepoint
at no additional cost. Installation should take from 20-40 minutes for
an experienced installer.
Q: How does the device work?
A:
The SurePay device works like a cell phone. It receives a wireless
signal via the Cingular Wireless network. The signal tells the SurePay
to give the customer a payment reminder or disable the vehicle.
Q: How does the payment reminder work?
A:
If a customer is late with his or her payment, and you wish to remind
them, you can do so with a mouse click. Once the reminder
function is enabled, each time the customer turns the ignition, the
unit will emit a beeping noise for approximately 15-20
seconds.
Q: How does the starter disable work?
A:
If a vehicle receives a signal while it is running, the vehicle will
continue to run. However, the next time the customer turns off the
vehicle, the vehicle will not start again. We suggest vehicles be
disabled between 2am-5am to minimize the chance a customer becomes
stranded away from home.
