Field Sales Director – Telematics / Dealership Solutions

Reports To: Vice President Sales

Travel: Minimum 4 days per week in the field (franchise dealerships)

Position Overview

We are seeking a Field Sales Representative with proven success selling B2B solutions into the automotive dealership or telematics space.
This role is ideal for a results-driven professional who enjoys being in the field, developing new relationships, growing the business with the acquisition of new accounts through consultative, value-based selling.

This position is approximately 80% new business development (hunting) and 20% account management (farming), with a strong focus on establishing partnerships with franchise dealerships.

Key Responsibilities

  • Visit franchise dealerships minimum of four days per week to prospect, present, and close new business.
  • Engage dealer principals, general managers, F&I directors, service managers, and parts managers with tailored presentations on Guidepoint’s EVTS platform.
  • Develop and execute a territory business plan focused on expanding market share and achieving sales targets.
  • Build long-term relationships by providing consultative insights and delivering measurable value to dealership partners.
  • Manage and grow existing accounts alongside the customer success team providing ongoing communication, product training, and expansion opportunities.
  • Maintain accurate records of sales activities, pipeline, and customer interactions using HubSpot, daily and weekly reporting.
  • Collaborate with Customer Success and internal teams to ensure smooth onboarding and sustained customer satisfaction.
  • Represent Guidepoint Systems at industry events, trade shows, and regional meetings as needed.

Qualifications

  • 3–5 years of B2B field sales experience with a successful track record of exceeding targets.
  • Experience selling to automotive dealerships or within the telematics / connected vehicle industry strongly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of dealership operations, particularly F&I, sales, and service workflows.
  • Proven ability to build executive-level relationships and close complex sales cycles.
  • Self-motivated with strong organizational and territory management skills.
  • Excellent prospecting, communication, presentation, and negotiation abilities.
  • Strong problem solving, analytical, and organizational abilities.
  • Comfortable balancing multiple priorities and account in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in CRM systems and Microsoft Office suite.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel extensively within the assigned territory.
